As some of you know, I've spent the past six months preparing to open a remote psychotherapy practice.

Can I use that as an excuse for why I haven't blogged in many months? :)

That said, my experience as a therapist dates back to the late 1980s when I first received my master's degree in social work from NYU. I worked as a social worker in outpatient psychiatry for many years before transitioning to careers in program development, public relations and journalism.

My studies in bullying triggered my desire to return to my roots as a therapist where I plan to help people struggling with what Dr. Ellen Walser deLara calls "adult post-bullying syndrome" as well as many other emotional problems.

I am thrilled to announce that I am now accepting clients!

Here's some info. about my credentials and practice:

I'm a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C) treating clients in New York State. I work with adults of all ages and genders dealing with depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, ADHD, and trauma.

My approach to therapy is eclectic and I use techniques from a variety of therapeutic modalities depending upon the client's presenting problems, life circumstances, and goals for the future.

I am well-suited to work with adult clients coping with depression, anxiety, life transitions, parenting, and relationship problems. I specialize in treating clients who were bullied in childhood and adolescence and as a writer, journalist and former musician, I have expertise in treating creative individuals facing unique challenges.

I provide a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental environment, where clients are respected and appreciated for their individuality, life experiences, and wisdom.

If you know of someone seeking psychotherapy, I hope you'll consider sending them my way. I can be reached through my website email.

Thanks so much for reading and hope you are all managing in these tumultuous times!
